Neenah Paper is a leading manufacturer and marketer of fine paper and technical products. We have seven manufacturing and converting facilities in Wisconsin (4), Massachusetts (2) and Michigan (1). We have three manufacturing facilities in Germany as well. Neenah Paper, Inc. recently acquired FiberMark, a specialty coating and finishing company with a strong presence in luxury packaging and overlapping technical product categories. FiberMark sells globally from six production facilities in the United States and one in the United Kingdom.
The acquisition brings to Neenah more innovation and customization across all of our key business units. It also adds more capabilities that will continue to accelerate our strategy, expanding targeted growth areas like premium packaging and performance materials. It complements previously announced strategic investments, which supports the continued growth of our filtration business.
The combination of FiberMark and Neenah increases the size and our reach in many of our addressable markets and provides opportunities to accelerate growth with a wider range of capabilities and products to better serve our customers.
Neenah Paper takes pride in our market leadership. We are an employer with a small company feel. Using a collaborative organizational approach to achieve a common purpose, our employees experience autonomy, authority and open access to leadership. This is combined with strong values and clear expectations in an informal, yet professional work environment. We believe in high integrity, high expectations, and high performance, while providing a competitive total compensation and rewards package. Neenah Paper provides the opportunity to make an impact.
Neenah Paper has openings for Converting Machine Helpers (these entry level production positions typically begin in the retail department supporting the Retail converting operations).
One of the ways Neenah demonstrates its commitment to you, as an employee, is through its compensation program. Most people think of compensation as direct pay, but employee benefits can be a sizable portion of your total compensation. Neenah maintains a competitive compensation program by benchmarking its program with other companies. Neenah provides a large selection of benefits that help protect your health, wealth and well-being. The Company provides some benefits at no cost to you, some you pay for, and other benefit costs are split between the Company and you. The flexibility of the Neenah benefits program helps you create the best benefits program that fits your needs and your lifestyle.
Employees get to choose from a variety of medical plans, dental plans, and vision as well. Employees have company paid short-term disability, wellness programs with health club membership reimbursement program, employee assistance programs, and a 401K with a company match, paid holidays and vacations. Employee benefits begin on their first day of employment with the Company; with paid holidays after 60 days.
Employees are also compensated for overtime and shift differential. Employees are paid time and one-half for hours worked more than 8 in one day or more than 40 in one week (other than mutual agreement hours). Employees are also paid double time for hours worked on Sundays. The shift differential is 26¢ for 2nd shift and 52¢ additional for hours worked on 3rd shift.
Neenah offers 12 paid holidays annually. The Company cannot require employees to work on the 4th of July, Labor Day, Deer Hunting Saturday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve Day. Should the Company need to run production to fulfill Customer needs, the Company can ask for volunteers on those days. Employees are eligible for holiday pay and a personal holiday after joining the Union on their 61st day of employment.
Schedules– The crews work rotating shifts: 1st– 7a.m. to 3p.m., 2nd– 3p.m. to 11p.m., 3rd– 11p.m. to 7a.m. The work schedule is a standard 6 day work week (Monday through Saturday). The standard schedule is 8 hours per day. In the Retail Department, the Labor Agreement allows the Company to schedule employees to work on Sundays if needed. In addition, employees can be scheduled long hours (12’s) or be held over to cover for their Partners (16’s) if necessary. Our business has been very strong and there have been times when our employees have worked 14, 21, or even 28 days in a row to meet customer demands.
Neenah offers a few options to provide flexibility for employee’s schedules. These include a Mutual Agreement (MA), a way for employees to trade hours or shifts within a given work week to get time off. Employees must work with a co-worker to plan a trade, then complete the necessary form and submit it for approval. Employees can also use the Mutual Off (MO) to give away any premium or overtime hours. Leave of Absence (LOA’s) requests are also available for employees to request time off for significant life events.
Neenah has grown annually over the last five years despite a declining industry. This is the direct result of a strong leadership team with a strategic approach. Now is a great time to join the Neenah Converting Center as the opportunity for job and wage growth is great through expansion and retirement opportunities. Job and wage growth opportunities can happen as early as within six months of employment and include movement to Operator roles, our Finishing Center, our Paper Mill (also located in Neenah, WI), and within our maintenance apprentice program. Employment opportunities also exist in roles such as Customer Service, Logistics, and Operations. Neenah also provides and encourages employees to become involved in opportunities with our Safety Committees, Wellness Committees, Training teams, and Lean Manufacturing improvements.
